Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream First Thoughts!

Hey Everyone,
Today's post is my first thoughts on Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream, Its becoming an increasingly popular choice with beauty lovers and is often used by Nicola (one half of the Amazing Pixiwoo sisters), even making it to her top ten winter products HERE!
I have to say I found it quite hard to get hold of I'm not sure if that's because it was sold out or if it just wasn't stocked but, it wasn't available in my local boots and many chemists. Eventually I found it in a dusty corner of an old chemist just around the corner from my house (which doesn't say much for the product). It was around €11 for the cream which I thought was quite reasonable if, it lived up to all the hype!
Oilatum says: "An innovative new therapy specially formulated to intensively nourish and help repair your skin's natural barrier. Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream penetrates deeply to re hydrate facial skin relieving tightness and irritation and leaving it feeling smooth.
Suitable for dry and sensitive skins.
Free from fragrances, preservatives, and emulsifiers."
As I've said before I actually have combination skin, some people might find it strange that I actually went for this product in the first place because its normally used by people with very dry skin. However my combination skin means that I have Normal patches, oily patches, but also some very dry patches especially around the tops of my cheeks and around my eyebrows. My skin can also feel very tight and itchy after cleansing which makes it feel uncomfortable.

My Plan was to use this as my night cream therefore repairing the dry patches and uncomfortable tightness during the night and, if it was really heavy and too much for my combination skin I would be cleansing it in the morning anyway. The first night I got it I went through my normal routeen and applied it as my night cream... It felt fairly greasy when first applied, I rubbed it in, and then went to bed. When I woke up in the morning I expected a greasy residue but there was none it had sunk into my skin getting rid of the dry patches and leaving it baby soft I was amazed! It felt so amazing! I've been using it for a little while now and it still feels incredibly soft, it also has not done what other heavy moisturizers have done to me in the past and clogged my pores so i'm delighted that's not happened.
All in all I'm super happy with this product and I will keep using it as my night cream as long as it keeps working for me!  its great value for money as you get 50ml of product that actually makes a difference to the skin! On really bad days where my skin feel really uncomfortable I've even been using it as my day moisturizer, as the initial greasy feeling soaks in really quickly and it sits really well under makeup (I would recommend leaving it to set for a while before applying makeup)

Have you tried this moisturizer? or other products by Oilatum?

FOTD! Bare Face... No Makeup!

Hey Everyone,
Today's Face of the day picture is a bare/No-Makeup face!

The reason I'm posting this is because up until a few months ago I would of warn makeup EVERYWHERE even if I was just putting one foot out of the door!
But more recently I think due to doing my blog and becoming more confident, I've kinda adopted the attitude of not really caring what people think of me anymore! I feel like we all feel a huge amount of pressure to look great all the time and that just can't be the case! (I feel like younger girls feel this especially!)
So now If I get up in the morning and I feel like going without makeup I do! who really cares know one's really looking at you thinking, Jasus yer wan over there could have made a bit more effort to go to Tesco's!

I feel like if we want to do our makeup it should be because we want to! We want to take sometime to make ourselves feel special not because we feel we have to! and I by no means have good skin! at the moment I'm suffering with blocked pores, breakouts, and I have combination skin, which means both oily and dry patches! but I mean unless someone's looking at my face through a magnifying glass I really don't care! Plus my skin enjoy's the break from makeup... especially from when I'm constantly trying out different products to blog about!
So here's my bare face...

Hope you like this post!
Are you baring your face more or do you think i'm crazy and should be covering up with makeup?

Gift Idea: Christmas Care Package

Hey Everyone,
So just one more gift ideas post before Christmas, and its the best one of all!
It's my Christmas Care package!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to do it this year, (due to the fact that i'm STILL job hunting) but this is usually the way I go when buying for my close friends!
I think grabbing a box and filling it with lots of treats is just the perfect way to treat your friends or sisters, and literally can be adapted anyway to make it suitable for anyone as its your choice what you put in it!
Here's a few ideas from me!...

Have you created a care package for someone this Christmas?

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser

Hey Everyone,
Today I just wanted to do a quick post to share with you a holy grail product for saving your lips this winter, keeping them soft and kissable!
Blistex Intensive Moisturiser...
Its amazing! They have a whole range of different ones to choose from, but this is my favourite it really is a holy grail for those of you that have dry, flaking, or chapped lips this winter!
This one has a subtle minty smell to it, but nothing to strong! It can come out quite white on the lips if you squeeze out to much, but you only really need a tiny amount to make a difference so if your using it in the day just be aware of this. However it would be great for under lipstick to keep your lips looking smooth!
I personally think its great for just after your evening skin care routeen just before your going to bed, pop on some of this (at this time it doesn't matter how much your putting on!) and then when you wake up in the morning your lips will be smooth and soft... Perfect!
I really love this and I picked mine up from boots, but any good chemist should stock some blistex options as it's really popular around this time of year!

Have you used this before? what do you think of it?

What did you get up to last weekend?

Friday Face Masks and Fun with the girls

Hey Everyone,
My lovely cousin's Flo and Bea came to stay last week for a couple of days, and on the Friday night we had a chill out with a Disney Film (Yes you can still like Disney at my age!) and some face masks! So I thought I would share what we thought of them, with you...
The First Mask: was Very  Berry from Montagne Jeunesse both the girls tried this one! Its for all skin types, and both the girls have fairly normal skin. It was quite thick but slightly lumpy, there was more than enough to cover two faces in one sachet, however they had one each so just applied it extra thick! If you wanted to though (if you had extra left over) you could depot it and use it the another day!
The most surprising thing that made us all extra happy was the amazing colour of this mask! Not surprisingly the colour was a lovely purpley lilac which we suspected from the name, but it was metallic and shiny (almost alien like) which made even more fun!
What Montagne Jeunesse say: "Bursting with the juice of pressed Blueberries and crushed Cranberries our fruity beauty is packed with antioxidants. Nourishing Peach Kernel oil and soothing Aloe will leave your skin refreshed and cleansed."
The girls both agreed it made their skin feeling really cleansed soft and Flo who was looking for some extra hydration was very happy with the results!
My mask of choice: was the Dead Sea Mud Pac also from Montagne Jeunesse, this is aimed at normal, oily and combination skin types! I choose this as I'm having problems with blocked pores at the minute, and with my combination skin I thought this was a winner! It was a baby blue in colour which I loved! It makes treating your skin extra fun when they are great colours. It was thick and smooth and there was plenty in the sachet just like the other mask! Mine dried a lot quicker than the girls did, and when it did it felt amazing really smooth and soft to touch!
I can't say it did anything magical to my pores but my skin did feel very clean and cleansed!
What Montagne Jeunesse say: "We’ve harvested ultra-deep cleansing Dead Sea Minerals to penetrate deep into pores drawing out impurities. Our Mud Pac is Nutrient rich with Seaweed & Kelp to help restore skins vitality leaving you cleansed to the core and totally relaxed. • Gluten Free • Nut Derivative Free • No Added Parabens"

Both Masks cost just over €1 from Dunnes Stores, but they are widely available! They have a huge selection to choose from, so there's definitely something for everyone!
One thing that happened to all of us was we all had a tingling burning sensation for the first 5-10 minutes which eased as time went on, but none of us had any redness or irritation once removed so I'm still not sure if it was just the way the mask works!
Excuse my creepy face its quiet hard to smile in a face mask! lol!
obligatory crazy picture!

I love pampering myself with a nice mask! Do you use masks? Whats your favourite?

New Haircut: From Reba Hair and Beauty

Hey Everyone,
I got a new hair cut on Thursday thanks to Reba Hair and Beauty I love it! Its a bit different and I will have to get used to it but I'm enjoying finding ways of styling it!

The Experience:
Reba have two salons in Dublin to find out more info you can check out their website HERE! The staff are lovely and friendly. The salon I was in was so pretty and luxurious! One thing I really loved about it was that there was a TV opposite the sink so you don't have any awkward silences.
My Hair Cut:
I wanted a fringe put in, maybe next time I wouldn't go as wide and maybe thicker but I like it and think it looks really nice when tied up! My hair also had a trim with some long layers put in because it was a bit blah! and then lastly a bit of weight was taken out of it (it was very thick!)

Before:
Bare face! Early morning!
After:
Hair down and straight
Up in a bun!
I like it and would definitely go back to Reba! It was a great experience and the hairdressers are excellent she took just the right about off and wasn't too scissor happy like so many others!

So what do you guys think? Are you thinking of getting your hair cut soon?

NYC City Mono Eye Shadows 920 A-Lister (Dupe for MAC Vanilla Pigment)

Hey Everyone,

A popular product for highlighting and illuminating with beauty gurus everywhere is MAC's vanilla pigment... but I have a dupe for you at fraction of the price!

NYC's Eye shadow 920 A-Lister! Although not a pigment it is in my opinion a complete dupe for the popular MAC Vanilla, and a bargain as well!
Its a beautiful white eye shadow with a lovely pearl/frost, and a really soft shadow. Its obviously not as pigmented as the MAC product but for the price a fantastic shadow!
I love it popped into the inner corner of my eye to brighten and illuminate  it also can be used as a subtle highlighter by using on a large brush and sweeping over the brow and cheek bones!

So a short but sweet post just to share with you a new found dupe!
Do you know any must have dupes for an expensive product?

DIY: Simple and Cute Personalized Present Tag

Hey Everyone,
Today's Post is a follow up from my Vintage style wrapping in my last post which you can find HERE!
Its a really simple way of making a personalized Tag to put on your presents!

You Will Need:
Garden Wire/ Or another type of wire
Twine or String
Metallic Paint of your choice

Making the Tag:
1. Make a loop with wire
2. Wrap Wire around the loop to stiffen and create extra strength
3. Snip of the end of the wire and shape (you could create stars, trees, hearts, or whatever you can think of!)
 4. Wrap your chosen twine or string all the way around the shape
 5. Then wined in and out the shape building up the shape to make it 3D, Make it as neat or shabby chick as you want!
 6. Knot the end of the string to another piece within the shape
7. Pour out some of your chosen paint put some on your finger or a brush dab off onto tissue to get rid of excess then dab onto the shape
 8. Leave to dry then attach to your present!

So What do you think? Are you personalizing your presents in anyway?
