Water Marbling for Nails!

Hey everyone!

So today a friend sent me a youtube video on Marbelling for your nails... Too Cool! I won't mention any names but thank you EllieSausage!

This is how its done (bearing in mind this was my first time):

You will need:
A Cup of water
2 Toothpicks or similar sticks
Your choice of nail varnishes

1. Start by filling a cup with water (tap or distilled)

2. Start layering your nail varnishes, by adding drops one by one into the water to make bullseye like circles

3. Continue the process till your happy you have enough product to work with (you have to work quite fast otherwise the varnish will dry and won't work)

4. Use one of the sticks (/toothpicks) to pull out the varnish into a pattern/design

5. Then dip your finger into the water so that the polish covers it and hold it there for about two minutes

6. Take your finger out of the water and wait for the polish to dry like normal. you may want to add a top coat (if you like-not necessary)

7. Then clean around your nail any varnish on your finger. for the next finger you can use the same water using new nail varnish if needed or gone dry to clean the water use the other stick to scrap the surface of the water off (the varnish would have formed a film ontop of the water making it easy to take away)

There you go quick easy and effective. Mine didn't work out as well on the first try because i missed the design but practice makes perfect!

Have you ever tried this method of painting your nails?

Colour Blend Foam Nice' n Easy Hair dye

I have had grey hair since I was about 16 :( but the power hair dye has kept my spirits up at the fact that my hair clearly thinks im 80 years old.
Anyways recently there has been a huge hoo-ha about mousse/foam home dyes, so i thought i'd jump on the bandwagon and give it ago!

For a while now I've been using semi permanent loreal casing creme gloss! I love it apart from the fact that after about 4 washes my greys start to appear again :( however if you don't have grey that is a great option for home dying. The reason I've been staying away from the permanents for the last while is that i was hoping to get some copper tones put in my hair but the hair dresser always says my hair would just go orange because of the dark tones i use.
Nice' n Easy was on offer with Tesco for around €6 so I thought for that price you can't go wrong eh? WRONG!
I wanted to try an auburn colour but I ordered the dye online with my shopping and couldn't really see the colour properly so just decided to go with my natural colour and stick to darkest brown (shade 3), but the shade wasn't the problem here!!

The box comes with activating creme, blend formula, two conditioning Glosses, Gloves, and a pump. Mixing the product was easy not rocket science, pour 1 into 2 shake three times inset pump. Simples as  a cute and cuddly creature would say. The problems came after this, the Foam is exactly like styling mousse its not wet and drys in the hair so was hard to spread and cover the hair. It was also really hard to get into the roots as it was drying in the lenghts before i got the chance to apply it. I used a full bottle on my head and I think I could really have used another bottle, and my hair is only to my shoulders. Now this new formula is supposed to be "non drip" and yes it is but, its so hard to apply its gets everywhere anyway. In all my years of home dying my hair I have never ever managed to get it all down by back in my ears and all over my face as much as I did with this dye!
I ran a comb through my hair just to make sure it was evenly spread. I then waited the correct amount of time before waiting to wash out. By this time my hair had dried out and was stiff and the ends felt horrible. So I reached for the conditioning Gloss. One sachet was supposed to be used then and the 2nd in a week. This one sachet didn't even cover the end of my hair let alone the lenghts, so I spread on some of my own conditioner in the hope it would help tackle the dryness. By this time I had dye up the walls! I washed it off and dried my hair. Now i'm here with the finished product and to be honest its not to bad but I can see patches and streaks that are uneven and not dyed probably. So all in all i'm not buying into the gimmick and will be back to using regular dye next time. I do love Nice' n easy as a brand and if i'm going for a permanent dye would tend to use them. I just didn't like the foam.

Have any of you tried Foam/ Mousse hair dye? What do you think?

Lip Balms from the The Handmade Soap Co.

Hey everyone how have you all been? feel like I haven't blogged about makeup in a while so expect some more on that soon.
But for today I wanted to share with you a love of Irish products.

This Lip Balm comes in three flavors I have the Au Natural with Rosehip Oil, I love this lip balm im not a fan of strong smelling lip products and this has a faint hint of scent. It has the texture of real butter and rely melts into the lips. This flavor is especially for lips in need of TLC which mine definately are at the moment with the strange changing weather were having at the moment.
The packaging is seriously cute! its a vintage, shabby sheek style! Its in a small tin (pocket sized, brilliant for throwing in the handbag on the run) even though its small theres a serious about of product in this tin (15g).

The best things about this product... Its Irish, Its only €4.50 (a steel for the quality), Its stocked all over the country and in the UK. And it doesn't have lists and lists of ingredients, instead its got lovely natural ingredients which rely work to moisturize the lips!

The Handmade Soap Co. has great products for anyone conscience of the chemicals other makeup and body products. You can see more products and more information on The Handmade Soap Co. HERE! Next up on my list of products i want to try is Shaving Soap for Her (interesting! )

What I got My Boyfriend for Valentines

I already did my two posts on what to get HER and what to get HIM for valentines, so I thought I would finish it off by showing you what I ended up getting my boyfriend. I won't be telling you any prices encase he see its after the day, but I will tell you where I got everything so if your interested you can go find it! Shane if your looking at this stop reading NOW! everyone else enjoy! x

1. Cocktail glasses from Debenhams:
I got these because we do like our cocktails, we enjoy mixing cocktails for each other and Shane recently brought the cocktail bible and a shaker set. These also match our wine glasses we already have.

2. Grow your own Chilli peppers:
Shane wants to do the whole home growing (Which includes home brewing!! (another present idea if unlike us you have the room)) but at the moment we just don't have the room, however this set comes with its own compost disks and little planters so there's all he needs and there small so he can enjoy this until we have the room for him to do more.

3. How I met your mother Season 4:
We watch an episode of this every night and this is as far as we are so far so this was the obvious choice of DVD. I got this from amazon.

4. Chocolate lolly:
From Marks and Spencer, I wanted to include some goodies.

5. Chocolate caramel love hearts:
Marks and Spencer valentines range.

6. Mr Perfect socks:
I got these in Tesco, bit of a jokey present rely but I think he'll like them

7. Sexy boyfriend Card:
I was gonna go down the nice card route but personally we're a bit more jokey than that so I got him this, I find it hilarious the message inside made me laugh out loud! from Tesco

8. 65 Pickles, chutneys and relishes book :
by Catherine Atkinson, This is also because of the home growing. Recently while visiting friends Shane tried their chutneys and pickles and then went on a mad hunt to find some to buy when we got home. He couldn't find any he wanted and then said he would like to make his own... so TA Daaaaaa now he can :)

Something else I wanted to put into the box was macaroons but I could not find them anywhere in Town if anyone knows anywhere or has seen them anywhere in Dublin... Please let me know

I cut the flaps off a cardboard box and wrapped it in a heart paper from Tesco, this was to hold all the presents in. I then wrapped the presents and placed them in the box to display!

So what are you doing for valentines? are you getting anything for your other half?

The Perfect Eyebrows!

A long time ago when I was around 10 I remember reading one of  those girly magazines, and inside was a small article on how to create the perfect eyebrows. All of it was wrong of course which I'm guessing meant many teenage girls up and down the country were walking around with baldy eyebrows. Anyway here is my easy steps to create the perfect eyebrows, these rules have served me well over the years and can be altered to fit everyone. Follow the basic steps but change width and length (/bushiness) to suit your own style.

Use something straight like a pencil to measure with, your eyebrows should start from the corner point of your eye so measure up from the corner straight up till you hit the eyebrow this is where you should begin. Everything on the other side of this (forehead/top of nose area) should be plucked away. This of course only applies to those who want this style if your going for the big eyebrows look you might want to leave it in.

The arch of your eyebrow whether your going for the thick or thin look should be created by, looking straight into the mirror using the pencil again to measure. The arch should begin where the eyebrow meets the middle of the pupil. This can then be a subtle or high arch depending on what look your going for. pluck away  want you want just start your arch here and drag it out getting thinner towards the end of your eyebrow.

Your eyebrow should end where the pencil that your using to measure with is held at a diagonal from the end of the eye outwards.

So there's the steps it quick and easy and should cater for everyone. So the only thing that's left is to get your self a decent pair of tweezers. Cheap ones just won't cut it, you won't be able to pluck all the hairs and it won't look neat. I would suggest Tweezerman tweezers they are available in boots and They are a bit pricey but well worth it, they will last you! Also if you can find the mini ones there just as good, just a bit smaller, which means the price is also a bit smaller!!

HERE! are some Tweezerman's from

January Valentines Glossy Box!

I just want to first tell you that I have wanted to subscribe to Glossybox from the very start money was holding me, but last month I decided what the hell I'll go for it despite still probably not rely being able to afford it. When I subbed Mid January I assumed that I would be starting with the Valentines box wrongly as they started me on the December box as this months was so late. At first I was a bit angry seeing as I rely didn't have the money for two boxes in one month, but when I saw how great the box was I was excited. So I waited when my box still hadn't arrived I contacted the Glossy box team. Apparently it had gotten lost in the post and it would take another week (maximum) to get to me. So again I waited another 7days on everyone else was getting their January boxes and I still hadn't got my Decembers so I contacted the Glossy Box team again, who I have to say were great!! they apologized and gave me my refund when I asked.

Which brings me to the Valentines Box which arrived yesterday (yyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaa!) I was super duper excited (and I started with the January box after all so at least I wasn't getting two in the one month).

Whats in the box:
I'll keep it short and just tell you what I got and What my first thoughts were, as I'm sure by now your all seriously bored of looking at everyone's boxes. Sorry about the picture quality I was too excited to wait for my camera charge so just used my phone:

1. Davines, Moisturizing Balm
Not got to try this yet but love the fact that you can use it on your body and hair. Looking forward to trying it.

2. Murad, Hybrids skin perfecting primer (Dewy Finish)
At first I thought this was going to be to dark for me, but it spreads and evens out. When it says dewy finish it rely does mean it I found it a bit shiny however I think it will be nice for the summer so will enjoy trying it again then.

3. Eyeko, Skinny Eyeliner (Black)
This wouldn't have been my choice of colour, if I could of picked (seeing as I already have enough black eyeliners) I would of preferred the plum or pink. However the blue and green do also look really nice. Its a good liner though, it does create a really skinny line and it stays pretty well. There is not an awful amount of product, and this is disguised by the very long bit of silver plastic at the end of the stick. But I like this and am happy! this is the type of products I would enjoy getting in the box.

4. FAB, Gentle body wash
I haven't tried this but can't wait to as I have sensitive skin and this could be perfect for me!

5. Davines, Cleansing Nectar
This looks rely oily however its not and when I used it on my hair foamed up like a normal shampoo. Not tried it enough to rely review it but first thoughts are it seems like quite a nice product.

Overall on this months box, I think GB and their ambassadors may have hyped it up just a bit to much with the limited edition etc... If they had said nothing I think I would have been a lot more enthusiastic. However I did like this months box, and I think it lives up to what it is suppose to be. 5 luxury samples which the products were, I'm happy and can't wait for the next. I would love more "makeup" samples next month if anything!

The Mystery Eyeliner

Sorry about the photo quality my camera is charging :(
I need your help!

Hey everyone I need you help to uncover the mystery eyeliner, I got it in a magazine last summer. One side is a liquid eyeliner (which is amazing!) and the other is a twist up eyeliner. It used to have some text written on it in silver (I think it just said Eye Liner but I'm not sure). If anyone has this or knows where its from please let me know, because the liquid eyeliner is seriously amazing and I really want to repurchase! Please help if you can... Thanking you kindly!
