Eau Thermale Avene Anti Redness Care Targeted Skincare Solutions to Combat Redness

This post is dedicated to my friend who shall be known as Elliesausage as a fellow Bosco sufferer!

This product is definitely one for the Irish ladies! And of course everyone else that suffers with redness of the face. This product is by the French sensitive skin care brand Eau Thermale Avene and this product is from there new range specifically designed to combat redness of the skin.

I have the Anit redness Fort Concentrate from the New range which is around €29.50 for 40ml, pretty reasonable for its quality and results (as you shall here!) I think anyways!

The company states that "The causes of redness are multi-factorial: hormonal changes, excessive exposure to the sun, extreme temperature changes, stress, spicy food and even hot drinks can aggravate blood vessels causing unwanted redness. Skin redness is the body's natural reaction to these triggers but for some people this redness is persistent and if left untreated, can become permanent over time.

I have suffered with patches of redness around my nose, chin and on my cheek bones since I was a teenager so was delighted when I heard about this product and immediately wanted to give it a whirl. Now i'll admit I was very skeptical at first, but there are some days when my concealer just doesn't do the job and I wanted to try something a bit more out there to at least try to make it less noticeable. I wasn't expecting miracles, however for me I think this might be a miracle product!

It has loads of anti redness ingredients and is hypoallergenic so great for sensitive skin like mine. The directions said to apply morning and / or evening to the areas were needed. Its got a nossel applicator end so i love just squeezing it out straight onto the skin and then rubbing in. It is really moisturizing and can sometimes feel a little bit greesy which is its only downside, however you don't need that much product so its not very obvious and shouldn't cause to much oilyness!

Now down to its effects, by the second morning I hadn't seen any effects and was feeling a bit disheartened (Im very impatient! and love instant products) but I applied it and when i woke up on the third morning shock horror... the redness was definitely reduced! It has got constantly (gradually!) become less and less noticeable over the past week and I am delighted! I still have some redness but it is now easily cover-able with my concealer and even that makes me very pleased! I hope that in time it will deplete even more as I have only been using this for just over a week I can expect magic so quickly!
So Far So Good!!

It is available in Some boots and larger chemists up and down the country!

So what do you think? Do you suffer with redness?

Blog overhaul!

Today I had a bit of a blog spring clean! I made an updated version of the header, adjusted margins, and made two side bars. I also created a new background, and changed the colours around.
There's still a few bits and pieces I want to change but its a working progress!

Have you recently had a blog spring clean? What do you think of my new look? Any tips or advice?

Spring fling NOTD

Hey everyone,
I thought I'd do a spring themed Nail of the day for you today, hope you like it!

Step 1:
I used two coats of angelica nail colour in lemoncello, which is available in Penneys for €2.75 as the main and base colour. Its a real spring pastel yellow

Step 2:
I chose other nail colours to splat on my first finger

Step 3:
I put a small amount of varnish on the nail and then blew on it to spread and make it have to splat effect! I did this colour by colour letting each one dry before the next

So what do you think? Have you done any spring inspired nail art recently?

Can you fake it on the cheap

There are plenty of false nails available at the moment and to be quite honest i've never really been a fan before but with all the new designs and types avauable at the moment its hard not to be interested. If anything, stylish designs whilst being lazy... thats right up my street.

However the real question here is can you fake it on the cheap. On a recent visit to Penneys I picked up these falsies for €1.50, so how will these fair compared to the more expensive types on the maket at the moment.

There wasn't many designs to chose from however I do like this design its really wearable. The nails are a gold plastic and the back was also gold which is different to the false nails I've worn before. It comes with a nail glue which is pink similar to others I've used. If your a regular user of false nails you might want to buy glue separately to get a better quality glue for your nails and to provide a longer lasting effect.

These nails work the same as any other glue on false nails. You apply a small amount of glue to the nail, pop in place and hold down for a couple of seconds till the glue starts to dry. Its quick and easy which is why false nails are so popular. These are obviously not the best quality (the price says it all rely) but they would definitely  last the night if the glue is applied correctly. The black design did start to wear away by the end of the evening but by that time I thought they had last long enough considering what I had expected of the product.

All false nails are damaging because of the adhesive, as these are on the cheap side and the glue is not the best I would definitely suggest removing them properly. I dip the nail in nail varnish remover for a couple of minutes and then gently remove. Do not try to peel or pull them off it will really damage your nails!!

In conclusion cheap but cheerful! these would be great for a night out but you really wouldn't want to rely on them lasting any longer than that. There is limited choice of designs, however they do have the classic and popular french manicure style. At €1.50 for a night in fashion without wasting time applying varnish I think you can't really go wrong!

What happened to my hair, A quick update...

Hey everyone,
Ok so last time I spoke about my hair I was wondering whether to go blonde or try some kind of ombre, you can see my post on A Hairy Situation HERE! I just wanted to give you a quick update to what happened and what i decided to do with my hair. Well I can honestly say I think this is going to be a long post as its taken me a while to get used to this hair. I also am not sure that this is the end of this hair journey yet so look out for more updates!
My Hair before I started terrible photo I know!

My first step was to use colour b4 which in Ireland you can find in boots for around the €13 mark. It is quite expensive but definately works. However I was only able to get the regular strength instead of the extra strengh which would of been more apropriate to my colour. but nether less I went ahead and put it on. you can find out more about colour b4 HERE!

The product says that "Colour B4 hair colour remover is the safest and most effective way to reverse an undesirable hair colour application. Colour B4 shrinks the artificial dye molecules in the hair, enabling you to simply wash them away. What?s more Colour B4 does not touch your natural hair pigment so you are left with the colour which lay beneath your artificial shade."
I chose to use this due to the no Ammonia or bleach as i was worried about the effects of stripping on my hair. I had a lot of colour build up on my hair from years of dyeing my hair dark brown and black to cover up unwanted greys. My natural hair colour is a dark brown so I wasn't expecting much of a colour difference but i wanted to take off the build up to help the ombre process and make it easier to bleach when it came to it.
The process of using Colour B4 is quite long, you first apply the product to dry hair (and be aware it does stink of rotten eggs!!- No Joke!) You then leave it for the recommended time. It then has to be buffered and rinsed twice to cleanse the hair of dye and the product. Whilst on my hair it felt like a solid mouse, but apart from the stench it didn't bother me to much or sting my head as some hair dyes have done in the past.

My hair after Colour B4
After the buffering and rinsing I then dried as normal. As I expected the product had lifted off the colour build up which meant my hair felt in great condition, soft and only slightly lightened.
I then left it a few days before going to the hairdressers. There we decided to try a ombre rather than a whole head of blonde. The bleach was put into foils around my face and parts under the front half of my head.

In the Hairdressers with the foils in...

It took a couple of coats of bleach to get it to a blonde. However it hasn't completely gone blonde its an range from blonde to a coppery colour. At first I wasn't sure but I'm warming to it, I like that the highlights are around my face rather than through the whole head.

A quick pic of the hair

This is a quick picture taken after the hairdressers as you can see the colour runs through my fringe and around my face, its also layered into the front half of my head. I have been using a coconut hair mask €3 from boots for the past few weeks just to make sure my hair keeps its condition . If you want to know anymore about products used please comment below!

So have you ombre your hair? What do you think of the end result?

ECOTOOLS! Bamboo bronzer brush

Hey everyone,
Today I thought I would just share with you my favorite ever brush! I'm still very excited about it (I know sad that I'm excited about a brush) because I only got it on the weekend, so I will try not to ramble about it too much.
Firstly Ecotools brushes are very Eco friendly (hence the name!) and if nothing else that encouraged me to try them out. This wasn't my first brush from the brand as about a year ago now I got the 6piece brush set whilst looking for affordable good quality brushes! and trust me this brand is definitely high quality!
This brush is the Bamboo bronzer brush EcoTools says:

" This earth friendly brush shows respect for the planet
- Highly sustainable bamboo handle
-100% cruelty- free, soft taklon bristles
-Recycled aluminum ferrule
- Reusable storage pouch"

Its a rely dense brush with lots of compact bristles its also THE SOFTEST BRUSH I HAVE EVER FELT! (sorry got over excited again), but seriously its super soft and the reusable pouch is great for storage or travel. I brought this brush as I was looking for an affordable Kabuki style brush and I couldn't find one I felt was soft or kind on the pocket, so I thought I would give this a go instead and I'm so glad I did! I use it for buffing on powders and blending out bronzer's or blush. I got mine in Boots and it cost around €17, well worth every cent!

Do you have any EcoTools products? Were you as happy with your purchase as I was?

5 Things that made me happy this week

Number 5- Mood Lighting:
This week a bulb blew in our bathroom so it was Shane's mission to replace it he found a bulb put it in, and now we have what can only be described as pink mood lighting in the bathroom. It makes me laugh every time I go in there. It does eventually warm up but it provides giggles for the first 5 minutes of switching it on.

Number 4- Wrath Of The Titans Irish Premiere:
This week I was lucky enough to get to go to the Irish Premier in Dublin of Wrath Of The Titans, as Shane got tickets from his work. I thought it was better than the first film, Shane on the other hand loved it! We had a great night and rely enjoyed ourselves. The only thing that could of made it better was if i'd bumped into Liam Neeson.

Number 3- Finding my Ipod:
On the night of the premier I lost my Ipod which made me very panicky and angry as I can't leave the house without it. After ringing around half of Dublin I later found it on the floor. I was delighted but also felt very stupid.

Number 2- Shane Buying Body Lotion instead of shower gel:
We hadn't done a big shop for a couple of weeks and this week we ran out of shower gel so Shane ran off to the shops to pick up some. We only use dove as I have sensitive skin so he picked up what he thought was body wash, jumped into the shower poured some on his hands which led to confusion. Then came into me afterwards and said "have a look at this shower gel will u its rely weird" I then found out it was body lotion. I don't think I've ever laughed as much!

Number 1- House Hunting!!
Hopefully we will be moving soon and although our it will be sad to leave our first flat together we're looking to get a house as we're in need of some extra space, seeing as our stuff no longer fits into this flat. This weekend we went on the look and think we may have settled on an area we both agree on. Nothings set in stone yet but we're looking forward to a move at the beginning of the summer!

What made you happy this week?
