Guest Post: Soleil Tan De Chanel Review

Hey Everyone,
Hope your all enjoying Easter! Today's Guest Post is from Aimee (Lips like Sugar) who is going to review a product I have wanted to try for such a long time...Enjoy!
Hi everyone I'm Aimee and I'm over at Lips like sugar
When Hannah asked for people to do guest posts I jumped at the chance.Today I'm reviewing my favourite product ever! Tan De Chanel and when Hannah expressed that she's always wanted to try it, it seemed even more fitting to do a review.
Soleil Tan De Chanel (formally know as bronze universal) Is a bronzing makeup base. It is a cream product which retails for the hefty price of £30.00. It took me at least a couple of months to finally decide to buy this and I don't regret it one bit. I personally use it to contour my cheeks and jaw line and apply it underneath foundation with a real techniques contour brush.
The only unattractive thing about this product is that it leaves brush hairs (I tried my best to get rid of most of them for the photo!) I must say that when I first tried this out I was a tad freaked out about how dark it actually was and it took me a good few weeks to get to grips with it and make it best work for me. I can tell people with really pale skin would have to use an extra light hand.
(Left-swatched,Right-blended in)
This product really does last forever I got this back in October and I've hardly made a dent which is amazing considering I've been using it near enough everyday! This is my absolute Favourite product in my makeup collection and I can see myself purchasing it many more times in the future. I recommend anyone who's procrastinating about the expensive price tag to take the plunge and buy it as i'm 99.9% sure you won't regret it!
Have you tried Soleil Tan De Chanel? What were your first impressions?

Thank you for reading :)
Once again thank you so much to Aimee for doing a guest post I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did reading it, this product is definitely on my wish list now!
Hannah :) x

The End of Google Reader: New Ways to Follow me

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that as of July 1st there will be no more Google reader, this was announced by Google yesterday and unfortunately that means no more Google Friend Connect! GFC is the main way I know a lot you follow my blog, this means it won't appear on your dashboards anymore and you won't be alerted to new posts!
Obviously this means all the blogs you follow through this will now have to find another platform in which to communicate with you, thankfully we have till July to swap over!

So the reason for this post today is to ask you if you already follow me on GFC please could you now follow me on google+ instead it seems like the nearest thing to what we already have and its still powered by google. I am so grateful for all of my followers and that you all for already following me but if you wish to keep up to date with my new posts this seems like to best way. I have already set it up so all you have to do is click "Add to circles" button below the Google+ followers in the right side bar.
(you can find this in right side bar)

I would appreciate it so much if you could follow me via google+ I love our interactions and my blog wouldn't be the same without you all!

If you have any questions please comment here, or email me, or you can find me on twitter (@llandmakeup) and I will reply to you all!

There are also other ways to follow me through twitter, facebook, bloglovin, and

I hope this helps with any confusion!

Babyliss Volume Waves: How I Curl My Hair

Hey Everyone,
I recently posted my Valentines day FOTD (HERE!) where I had my hair in large curls. I created them using the Babyliss Volume waves tong and I thought I would review it for you as I think its an amazing hair tool!
This was something I had wanted for a long time,as I love large natural looking curls. At Christmas I got a bit of money and I was finally able to purchase it.
It is a 38mm nano titanium ceramic coated barrel, the large barrel means bigger more natural looking curls! It plugs straight into the wall and its temperature can go up to 200°C, with 5 digital heat settings for all hair types. It also has a swivel cord so no more getting tangled up as your styling.
Styling is so easy I just section my hair as I would normally when curling and then holding the barrel downwards rap the hair around it. There is a clip attachment to grab the hair but I never I never use it. When its been in the tong long enough just pull the tong up releasing the curl. I then repeat, curling all the hair making sure I curl the front section away from the face (as it falls nicer that way). When I've completed each section I give it a quick spray with hairspray. I also like to mess around with the placement of the curls.
There are two ways in which I use the tongs:
1. Defined Curls:
Brush the hair beforehand then section and use the tongs as well as hairspray, then do not brush after curling to keep the definition.

2. Natural Bouncy Waves:
The same as 1 but when you've finished and the hair is cooled comb through with a wide toothed comb to take away some the hold from the hairspray, which softens the look creating a more natural curl, loosing some definition but leaving a great bouncy wave

This is definitely a great hair styling tool for anyone wanted to create amazing curls it is also reasonably priced. I got mine from Argos (HERE!)

What do you think of the babyliss curling tong?

Wishlist: Homeware To Change Up A Bedroom

Hey Everyone,
Today's post is a home-ware wishlist... Which is something that I haven't done before but living in rented property it is sometimes not an option to re decorate (which is the case for me!) and everything tends to be wither white or cream. So I've been looking for something things to beautify the room a bit without painting walls or buying new furniture. I love blues, teals, and turquoise in the bedroom I think they are really calming and add a pop of colour. Although I can't afford to buy anything at the moment these are the things I would love to be able to purchase!

1. Applique Monogrammed Lavender Heart

2. Cotton Ball String Lights

3. Patterned Linen Cushion Cover

4. Print - Birch Tree Forest Love Birds Carved Initials

5. Print -Life Quote Inspirational Print

6. Print - Watercolor World Map No. 6 18 x 24" print

7. Ikea Vases

8. Flowery quilt

What do you think? Do you own any of these items?
Do you live in rented property you also can't decorate?

Guest Post: Top Ten Current Make-Up Loves

Hey Everyone,
I am now doing guest posts on my blog once a month and when the lovely Ellen from A little bit Unique said she would like to do a post I was delighted!

Ellen's post was supposed to be up on my blog for the end of February but unfortunately I got ill and couldn't get to the computer, but its here now and i'm so happy that she could do a guest post...and here it is
Hello everyone! I should introduce myself, I'm Ellen and I've popped over from A little bit Unique. I was absolutely delighted when Hannah got back to me about doing a guest post; I absolutely love her blog and have been following for a really long time so it's an honor!

Anyway, I thought I'd do my top ten current make-up loves!

At the minute, I seem to be stuck in a rut with my base products. I've always been a Max Factor foundation girl and at the minute I'm loving the Face Finity 3 in 1 foundation. It's a medium to full coverage, but doesn't look cakey or heavy on the skin. It blends in nicely. I dab it a bit of the collection lasting perfecting concealer just under my eyes and then on my chin or if I have a blemish and it covers them nicely. Once I've finished my complete make up look, I dust some Rimmel stay matte powder on my face, just to keep my make up in place and stop me from looking too shiny.
I'm a massive real technique brush fan, they are so affordable and apply make up really effortlessly. This month I've been loving the Stippling brush and the Buffing brush from the core collection. I find the stippling brush is perfect for liquid and creamy foundations. I dab the foundation on different sections in my face and then use the stippling brush to blend it and really work it into the skin. I use the buffing brush to apply my powder all around my face, using circular motions to blend it in.

I've been obsessed with Urban Decay eye-shadows for years. They are always really pigmented and long lasting, so it's no surprise that I can't put my Naked palette down. I love doing a neutral smokey eye and this is perfect for it. Before I put on eye shadow, I always put on an eye primer first. The Urban Decay Primer Potion is amazing, it's a creamy neutral base that is perfect for making your eye make-up last all day and stay in place. Max Factor's false lash effect mascara, is my all time favourite mascara and I can't recommend it enough. It makes your lashes look really full, dark and long. The Max Factor kohl eye liner has proven to be a really long lasting eye liner, that isn't too thick on the eyes.
My favourite lipstick formula at the minute is the Max Factor Colour Elixir; it provides a matte finish, but is really moisturizing on the lips, so it doesn't leave a dry or crackled effect. It provides a really pigmented colour and smells amazing. I love ruby Tuesday, which is a really fresh, bright red.

So, I hope you enjoyed that! Is there anything you really love or hate?
Ellen x
I just want to say thanks again to Ellen, her post was brilliant and she was so nice and patient while I was ill with the delay of getting her post up! Please go check out her blog if you haven't already!
I'm looking for a guest blogger for the end of this month tweet or email me if you are interested!

New Trend Coloured Hair: Blue Rinse Not Just For Grannies

Hey Everyone,
Monday morning internet surfing lead me to see yet another celeb had taken up the new trend of colour dying there hair, and this time not the usual rinse (that is so in fashion at the moment) but a very vibrant blue. So I thought I would share my opinions on what I thought of this latest trend!
Cher Lloyd not only decided to mix up her look by choosing to go blue but by choosing to go a vibrant bright blue, unlike the colour rinses that have been popular recently. From what I can see she has taken quite a lot of slack for this new change, but I think why not shes young and the shade definitely suits her!
The new girls on the block, Little Mix at The Brits... both Perrie and Jade are working this trend, and I think it works for both of them. Little Mix are great role models for young girls and teens everywhere, I love that they are not afraid to be individual within their group and show their own personalities. Who ever said girl bands had to be matchy matchy!
Perrie's purple rinse is super cute on her, and I love the way she uses hair accessories. For most people with her pale skin this colour would wash them out but she really knows how to style it, and is doing a great job! Jade has the blue rinse, it is a lot harder to add in a pop of colour when you have dark hair (I would know, I tried so many in my teenage years!) but this subtle blue really works being edgy but still showing her cute personality!
When I first saw Helen Mirrens new due I loved it, especially because her age has not hindered her ability to try new trends (as it does with so many others)! As much as I respect her for breaking boundaries the more I look at this picture the more I think it just doesn't quite work for her! In my opinion the shade doesn't really work with her skin tone although I love the cut! To be quite honest even if it doesn't really work I still can't stop thinking... you go girl!
Kelly Osbourne's choice of a similar shade to Perrie's (Little Mix) has me undecided in some ways I think it suits her (and her personality) and then other times I think she would look so much more pretty with a lovely brunette shade, especially with this elegant dress!
Oh Christina really? as much as I love ombre this is a step to far, maybe if she had left it at the faded out purple rinse it wouldn't be so bad... but the pink is like barbie gone wrong! I'm loving her new curvier self so here's hoping she gets the perfect hair so match soon!

For me I think this trend definitely is very individual to different people, it either suits you or it doesn't. As for me its not something I would be rushing to try, maybe 5 years ago but I don't really think i'm the type of person who could pull it off! If you do love this look the website Xtras (HERE!) are selling the La Riche Directions Semi-Perm Conditioning hair Colour for £3.99 in a range of amazing colours which would be perfect for this trend!

So what do you think of this new trend?
