Rant: A Disgusting Man

Hey Everyone,
I usually try to keep anything negative away from llandmakeup as I want this is be a positive space but something has really annoyed me I need to vent!
I’m not the type of girl that bitches about men or anything like that, having been raised solely by a man I tend so find men easier to converse with and feel more comfortable around them, which is probably why I have so little female friends :(
... but something happened a few days ago that made me need to have a moan, sorry for all the complaining I'm about to do!

I was in a popular clothing store looking for a top in my size and a women passed me followed by her child and I suspect her husband. As he passed me he pinched my arse. Now I’m not talking about a little tap that could be mistaken for someone brushing passed you, but a full on pinch/squeeze. I was needless to say stunned, at first I just stood there shocked and then I got pretty angry pretty fast. I’m not a violent person by any means (to be quite honest I'm against violence of any kind) but in that moment I really wanted to punch this guy square in the face. How dare this disgusting man who was definitely old enough to know better do that to me.  It took every bit of restraint in me to not go absolutely nuts, and I would of definitely had a few choice words for him if it wasn't for the fact that he had a young child with him. I did however feel extremely sorry for his wife/girlfriend who carried on shopping oblivious to the idiot she was with.

I’m honestly still shocked and angry, even a couple of days on. I thought the days of men thinking they can objectify women was long gone!
So I want to know has this ever happened to you? and how did you deal with it?
Was I justified in my anger or is this just a normal every day occurrence?

  1. oh my god, I would have said something!! That is so out of order! I used to work in a nightclub and I was walking through and a guy did it to me and I was like apologise now! SO he had to say sorry in front of all his friends and looked pretty stupid! How awful for you though as if he thinks he can do that to you, especially when out shopping in the daytime with his family! God knows what he thinks is acceptable in life.

  2. Aww no, that’s awful. I’m saying that I probably would have confronted him about it, but in that exact moment who knows how I would feel. He could have easily denied said incident and you might have looked silly. But jesus, I think this is becoming way too common nowadays, I got a wolf whistle on a busy street and suffice to say I was mortified but so angry too. I walked on and paid no heed in that instance because I knew he only wanted attention. I think you were right in your anger, especially if it appeared that he had a family.

  4. I'd love to say "I'd have eaten the head off him" but I probably would have said nothing. Absolutely vile creature, who in the hell did he think he was?! I remember being in a pub years ago and a man who had his wife sat right next to him said to me "do you know what, you've a lovely pair of t*ts" - I just said "excuse me?!" and he laughed - she heard him and said nothing, I actually felt angry at HER - how could you let someone disrespect you like that. Disgusting. x

  8. That is disgusting :( I'm sorry that happened to you. The worst I've had is have guys touch my arm or say nasty shit. I usually tell them off if other people are around.

  11. So sorry to hear this still happens and worse that it happened to you! I had someone keep rubbing my arse when we were squashed like sardines waiting for the premier of Man of Steel in Madrid. I hate that I couldn't do anything about it as there was nowhere to move to and he kept touching me. Men can be so repulsive.
