Top 5 Accessories For Autumn/Winter

Hey Everyone,
today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite necklaces to complete an outfit during autumn winter. I think a necklace is the perfect accessory for the coming months to make a statement and jazz up your winter wardrobe.
I love this wrap necklace from Willow&Clo it has the perfect balance between feminine elegance, and the structure from the stones to make it a stand out piece for A/W. It comes in both Green Chrysoprase with Black Onyx and Pink Opal With Pearl, and I couldn't tell you which one I love more!

If your into statement stones this is the piece for you. I like this Green Druzy as I think the colour is one that will stand out, but it is also available in other colours.

Layering necklaces is a great way to accessorize for winter especially when paired with a soft top/jumper. This Twig wrap by Willow&Clo is perfect for layering, you could wear the necklace single/double wrapped or layered with other pieces. Why stop there? also in the Twig collection are rings, bracelets and earrings to create a cool edgy look.

Tassels are very on trend this season and this ombre beaded piece is no exception. The slight sparkle means it is perfect for the party season without being over the top, simple elegance.

If you want something fun and statement this necklace by Melissa Curry won't disappoint.  The ribbon tie up makes it different and the bright beads will be sure to inject some fun into any outfit.

Lipstick Loves: Creating The Perfect Matte Red Lip

Hey Everyone,
there is currently a few different brands offering matte lipsticks but in reality I can find them difficult to apply and drying on the lips... Here is my alternative method of creating the perfect matte lip:
  • I like to use a lip liner (Maybelline Colorsensational 132 Sweet Pink) to create a neat outline, I also like to use liner to help prevent the colour from bleeding.
  • To apply the lipstick (Sleek Cherry) I use a lip brush I really like this one from Blank Canvas (L29) it gives you a bit more precision and you can build on the colour a lot easier by patting the colour onto the lip.
  • To create the matte effect I then take a small brush and some mattifying powder I use Rimmel Stay Matte in 001 transparent, but loose powder is even better. Only a small amount is needed, press it onto the lips then blend with the brush or blot with a tissue and there you have your perfect matte lip for A/W!

Have you tried this method of creating matte lips?

Mid Week Must Have: La Roche Posay Nutritic Intense

Hey Everyone,
this weeks must have is La Roche Posay Nutritic Intense. This moisturiser is a winter essential for those with dry to very dry skin. I have combination skin, with dry and oily patches however when autumn/winter sets in the dry parts (of my face) become a lot worse and scaly looking. Therefore its important that I look after my skin properly to help reduce the appearance of this. I apply the Nutritic Intense after my serum in the evening and wake up to more hydrated and better looking skin.
Moisturisers for dry skin are normally quite heavy but this feels light and silky, which is great for someone like me who suffers with oil in places as well. It has a smoothing texture which is left after application and feels like a balm without the greasy or sticky side. It is also paraben free which I love especially in skincare!
Like I have said before (like all La Roche Posay products) the packaging is clean, simple and clinical... I like that no nonsense, no fuss, but great product approach!

What is your La Roche Posay essential for this winter?

October Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey Everyone,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I couldn't let it pass without showing you some of the commercial ways of donating.
Although it kinda does annoy me when a large company like GHD are selling a straightener for €155 when only €10 of that is going to the charity, but every little helps and if you can't donate these are great alternatives:
/1. Blank Canvas Airbrush Blender/ 2. Wellington Boots/ 3. Aveda Hand Cream/ 4. Pandora Charm

Mid Week Must Have: The Body Shop White Musk Smokey Rose Fragrance

Hey Everyone,
this 'Mid Week Must Have' is a winter fragrance essential in my opinion. Not only do I admire The Body Shop for its range and quality of products but also because they are so active in making sure their products are both cruelty free and use organic ingredients.
This new fragrance is perfect for the winter, and I am in Love.
White Musk is my favourite perfume from the brand and this new Smokey addition is just as good. Its quite a deep scent and is in no way light or fresh... Its heavy and warm, everything a winter fragrance should be. With ingredients like Bergamot, pink pepper, blackcurrant, tobacco flower, rose, and orange flower you can see why. The packaging is of course lovely and will look pretty on your dressing table, with its luxurious plum ombre glass bottle.
 Layering Scents:
Layering can help to prolong a scent and keep you smelling like your fragrance all day. The best way to layer scents is through using multiple products of the same fragrance. This White Musk Smokey Rose also comes in a Bath and Shower Gel as well as a Body lotion. So to keep myself smelling amazing all day I first wash with the Bath and shower gel, before applying the body lotion... Lastly just before running out the door I spritz on the perfume and I'm smelling like "Smokey Rose" all day!
I usually wouldn't go for a fragranced body lotion or shower gel due to my sensitive skin but this doesn't effect it at all and leaves it feeling soft and smooth, so I can smell great and feel great!

Lipstick Love: MAC Satin Lipstick in Rebel

Hey Everyone,
this Fridays Lipstick Love is MAC's Rebel.
This ever growing in popularity lipstick is perfect for this time of year when bold berry lips are everywhere. The shade is a deep purple toned red, although I have seen it on lots of different people and have noticed sometimes it can look more of deep pink than red.
I tried this product for the first time in June and I have to admit it has been my favourite shade ever since, I wear it so often I'm nearly through my first lipstick already.
The formulation just adds to my love of this product, it is in MAC's satin range, meaning it is creamy without being sheer and produces strong long lasting colour.
I cannot rave about this product enough and it will create the perfect berry lip for this A/W!

Have you tried Rebel? What is your favourite MAC Lipstick?

Mid Week Must Have: Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner 132 Sweet Pink

Hey Everyone,
today's Mid Week Must Have is the Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner in the shade 132 Sweet Pink.
With the colder months comes the trend of berry/deep red lips, so some of you might be on the hunt to find a lip liner to keep those lipsticks in place. A liner helps to prevent a colour from bleeding, it can also help to define the lips and create a sharper edge as well as adding to the longevity of the colour.
I was looking for a nude liner as I think they are the most versatile due to the fact that you are able to wear it under any lipstick nude, bright, or dark. This Maybelline lip liner was the closest match to my own lip colour I could find so I immediately picked it up to give it a whirl. I apply a lip liner in the traditional way... By just drawing out the outline of my lips to create a frame in which to apply the lipstick, but also to help prevent the colour from bleeding or smudging. I know a lot of people now like to fill in the whole of their lip first with a lip liner but I sometimes get dry lips therefore I prefer to just apply to the outline, as I find filling in the whole lip can accentuate the dry parts.
This liner is the perfect colour as its not noticeable. It is also strangely creamy, it reminds me of a cream to powder blush as it has the same kind of consistency.  It has helped to keep my lipstick in place and prevent the colour from bleeding. However I cannot comment on the longevity due to the fact that I tend to re apply lipstick throughout the day.
All in all for what I need it to do I think this is the perfect lip liner, the fact that it is the same colour as my lips (which trust me was very difficult to find) already sets it apart in my mind.

Do you use a lip liner? Whats your mid week must have?
