Current Spring Wishlist

Hey Everyone,
today I thought I would put up a current wishlist. I haven't done one in a while, and its a great way to show what I'm loving at the minute...
Unfortunately I don't know where this chair is from I just saw it on Pinterest and fell in love. This would be perfect for my mini office area. I would love it in Pink and Silver, to be in-keeping with my llandmakeup theme!

In the spring I like to wear a lot of scarf's, firstly to jazz up an outfit and secondly it's still not all that warm in Ireland and its nice to have an accessory to help keep you wrapped up as well as stylish! This scarf is from Stella&Dot my new obsession I have been browsing the online store ever since I discovered it through @emiliecmurphy on twitter.

These small navy stone drop earrings are very me and I thought they went really well with the scarf above. Simple but elegant earrings. These are also Stella&Dot...told you I'm obsessed.

Earlier this month at Kerry Fashion Week my friend did my hair with a version of these rollers and they amazed me. My hair is very heavy and usually only holds a curl for a couple of hours, but when I used these rollers I woke up the next morning with perfect curls still!

Floral's are back in this spring/summer and Oasis are certainty doing them well. These shoes are perfect for me as they are low enough for me to be able to wear. I struggle with heels being already tall I don't like to wear really high heels, and also find it painful to walk in them so these are Ideal. I also love the combination of the floral print and the plain pink heel!

Last but not least is this floral dress. I LOVE this dress, love love love. Did I mention I loved this dress? I think it would make a beautiful spring/summer addition to any wardrobe. It could be dressed down with a long cardigan and boots, or teamed with a pair of heels to make the perfect party outfit. I really like the floral print, its very easy to over-do but this stays quite classic and pretty rather than being too fussy!

What's on your current wishlist?

Cocoa Brown Spring Launch Event At The Vintage Cocktail Club

Hey Everyone,
I was recently delighted to be invited along to The Vintage Cocktail Club in Temple Bar for Cocoa Brown's Spring Launch. It was a lovely evening of catchup's and chats about our love of Cocoa Brown. It was amazing to finally meet the CB team who were all so lovely and looking stunning. I'm full sure these ladies are the some of the hardest working women in Ireland, constantly on the go and looking fab at the same time #girlpower!
(Sorry for the picture quality my flash isn't the best!)
It was amazing to catch up with one of my fav's the lovely Roisin as well as Laura and the ever glamorous Katie who looked fab as usual! We were treated to very tasty nibbles and the girls were treated to some yummy looking cocktails all named after CB products of course. Water for me being a non drinker but I can admire how good the drinks looked! There was even a sweetie table created by Sugar and Spice, the new hot thing to have at events and weddings!
...and after all of that and a great night we were sent home with a goodie bag containing the three new products Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Dark, Lovely Legs Spray and Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan. I'm so excited about the Lovely Legs Spray (leg makeup) I couldn't contain myself and didn't have it for more than a few seconds before it was tested on my arms. Look out for a review very soon!

A huge thank you to all the Cocoa Brown team for having me along it was lovely to meet you all! Also a special thank you to Marissa who is so amazing to us bloggers, from day one she has been so supportive and generous, its always lovely to see not only an Irish business succeed but a genuinely nice person do well!

A Much Needed Hair Makeover From Lisa @PinkSugar

Hey Everyone,
If your Irish and on Twitter chances are you might have heard of a new hashtag doing the rounds at the moment...#swapbiz. Created by Holly Shortall (@hollywooddublin) an amazing fashion illustrator, #swapbiz gives a chance to Irish businesses and creatives a chance to swap products or trades and offer there services for others to trade theirs in return. A down right flipping amazing idea if you ask me. I was Online for the first swapbiz chat offering my Graphic Design and Blogging services, the very lovely Lisa (@MolloyLisa) traded me a haircut for a Blog post and business card designs. I jumped at the chance to swap with Lisa, she's so lovely and her hair dressing skills are legendary in the Irish blogisphere!
I had neglected my hair a bit in the last year I'm sad to say. I've let it get super long and damaged due to a mixture of constant styling, hair dye, and not having it cut (in longer than I would like to admit). It was so lack lustre with no shape, it was heavy and thick meaning it had become so flat and weighed down due to the lack of volume. I found a picture that I liked and showed it to Lisa, I asked her if she could only cut layers in the front cause I couldn't deal with the maintenance (lazy) and to just take off the dead ends. I think it was the first time I've ever had my hair cut and someone had actually listen to me. I absolutely love my hair now, the layers add so much volume and it feels lighter and healthier now. Lisa also cut my side fringe back in and I absolutely love it, she is an amazing hairdresser I would recommend her talents to everyone!

Thanks so much to Lisa! I've included twitter handles of people mentioned so you can find them. Also Lisa just opened her new Online store, 'Pink Sugar Sparkle Store' the websites not up and running yet (actually I'm doing that for her which I'm so excited about) but you can already purchase products from the Facebook Page and follow happenings on the stores Twitter Page!

What do you think of Lisa's handy work?

Kiehls Bespoke Skincare Consultation

Hey Everyone,
yesterday I headed off to the Kiehls flagship store (Wicklow Street, Dublin 2) to get a skincare consultation. I thought I would share my experience with you and tell you about an amazing offer they are currently running!
Recently my skin has become a bit lack luster its been very dry due to the awful weather we've had, and along with the fact that it was already combination its just been a pain to keep under control. I was hoping the gang at Kiehls could give me some pointers to help me overhaul my skincare routine.
When I first sat down I discussed with one of the girls my current routine, including what products I was using. She then applied what I can only describe as sticky dots to my face, one on the fore head and one on my cheek. These dots tested of oils and help to determine my skin type, it was afternoon when I went in which is a great time to get your consultation because your skin has been exposed to the elements all day, and usually when oils start to appear. Mine tested as pretty normal which I was surprised at having always thought I was combination. After this she tested how hydrated my skin was by pushing the skin up to look for dehydration lines, which it turns out I had! She next talked me through some amazing products which would be suitable for my skin and that could help with my concerns. I also got an opportunity to ask questions, I had a few to say the least. Most of all I wanted to check the products I was using were being used correctly.
I received a skincare consultation guide with all my recommendations and advice which was great, as well as this I was sent on my way with plenty of samples to try out/test the products discussed. My favourite product out of the products discussed has got to be the 'Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream' (without SPF), it felt amazing and really sunk into the skin. One of things I had problems with was finding a moisturizer that sinks in and doesn't just sit on top of the skin, so this was a great discovery.
Onto the deal Kiehls are offering... so if you go down to Kiehls (Wicklow Street) you can get a free skincare consultation plus samples to try and test the products that suit your needs, which I would definitely recommend. If you spend €75 or more you will also receive a special gift of the Creme de Corps Body Moisturiser (75ml), while stocks last! I have reviewed this product before you can find it HERE

Whats your favourite Kiehls product?

Kerstin Florian Correcting Hyaluronic Serum

Hey Everyone,
seeing as I told you about the amazing Waterwipes (Sensitive Makeup Removal) last week I thought I would continue the trend and tell you about another skincare product I'm seriously loving at the moment...The Kerstin Florian Correcting Hyaluronic Serum.
Ever the skincare addict this product appealed to me right away. When a product has got serum and Hyaluronic in the name you have my attention.
So why do I love a product with Hyaluronic acid...
"Hyaluronic acid binds and attracts water to the skin to maintain softness and suppleness. This nourishing serum boosts moisture as it soothes irritated and sensitive skin."
Kerstin Florian Says...
1.Hyaluronic acid attracts 50 times its weight in water to achieve excellent skin hydration
2.Minimizes free radical damage and provides an optimal level of antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins for the skin
3.Improves tolerance to environmental irritations while increasing skin firmness and elasticity"

This product has a strange texture that reminds me of Aloe Vera, it is very thin and almost like water but sticky/viscous! I apply this on cleansed skin before my moisturiser at night, it sinks in pretty quickly and a little goes a long way! I would say if you are planning on using this during the day to team it with an SPF to make sure your protecting your skin against the sun as some products that contain acids can make your skin more susceptible to damage. I love this product as it helps to keep my skin hydrated and aids my skin in retaining moisture making it look healthier and plumper, I'm also sure its encouraged less breakouts!

What I Ate Wednesday #5

Hey Everyone,
I hope you are all having a lovely week! I'm back with another 'What I Ate Wednesday', it is the start of Lent today and I have to say I don't think I will be giving anything up this year. I'm already eating better as part of my New Years resolution and think giving something else up would just make that even harder!
Breakfast: Home-made strawberry frozen yogurt with granola, I have an ice cream machine which I use to make this with natural yogurt, strawberry's and honey.
Lunch: I'm trying to cut down on white bread but I couldn't resist this sandwich, the filling is ham, coleslaw and lettuce.
Dinner: Home-made Quinoa lasagna with spinach and peppers, a healthy alternative to a regular lasagna.

What have you eaten this week? Are you giving up anything for Lent?

Waterwipes Sensitive Makeup Removal

Hey Everyone,
I'm a serious skincare addict and I am always on the look out for new products to try however one thing I always stay clear of is wipes. Usually full of alcohol and nastys that dry out the skin, terrible for cleansing as they push the makeup around the face rather than removing it...That is what I thought until now! My latest discovery of Waterwipes for sensitive makeup removal with sea mineral extracts means a new love affair with wipes.

Waterwipes are fragrance-free, alcohol free, they don't dry out the skin, no sting and can be used daily. There is also no lanolin, perfume, colour, or oil, free of all the things that make me hate normal wipes! Whats more is for the little amount of ingredients they do have, the wipes are still seriously effective. They remove all my makeup quickly and easily, they also seem to stay damper longer than other wipes I used when I was younger which dried up before I had finished the pack.

I am absolutely in love with these wipes, I'm not saying I'll be using them every day, my skins pretty dry at the moment so I'm trying to give a bit of extra TLC. However for those nights when I'm feeling lazy, which is quite a lot of the time at the moment I will definitely be using these and not afraid of the consequences that I would expected with other wipes I've tried. I will definitely be re-purchasing and will have at least one lot of waterwipes in the house from now on, they are just to handy and to affordable not to!
For all you wipe cynics out there I definitely recommend trying these, and for all you wipe lovers that have never tried these OMG you need to they are amazing! Also did I mention they are Irish!

Free Advertisers: March

Hey Everyone,
Last month I started offering free advertising as a chance to spread the blogger love. It went so well I plan to continue doing this each month for the foreseeable future. I tweeted out and randomly picked five bloggers to be on my blog for the month of March. I thought I would give you a quick introduction to their blogs:
1. Chloe from 'Thrifty Skies'
"I'm Chloe and I'm a student and blogger from Birmingham. My blog consists mostly of spending bans (both ongoing and failed), drugstore makeup & skincare and other general discounts or bargains - being an unemployed student and having a love for makeup doesn't go together very well! There's also the odd lifestyle and fitness (ha, just joking! Maybe one day) post to be found every now and then."

"I started blogging in August 2013 as I'd always been a huge fan of YouTubers but it never really worked out for me - it all just felt so wrong! Cheesy as it sounds, as I started my blog everything began to fall into place, and I managed to keep a routine and commit to it right from the beginning. I loved it (and still do) - It did admittedly surprise me how time consuming it could be, but so rewarding too!"

What is You Holy Grail Product: "At the moment has to be the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+. I've had blemished skin for years and it seems to be working a treat at slowly removing the redness and spots - I've not had skin so smooth since I was a baby!"

2. Cherry from 'Cherry Pie Blog'
"My name is Cherry (yes, like the fruit!) and I'm a 25-year-old PR Consultant by day and beauty blogger by night/weekends. My blog features mainly beauty product reviews from highstreet stores such as Boots and Superdrug, meaning everything featured is easily accessible to my readers. There's the odd weekly lifestyle post and the odd splash of fashion as well!"

"I started the blog as a way to publish my writing and create a sort of portfolio for myself as a budding journalist/writer. Since it's inception in 2009 it's gone from strength to strength and I somehow fell into writing about beauty along the way."

What Is Your Holy Grail Product: "Origins GinZing Moisturiser! It makes my face smell like a Quality Street Orange Creme!"
3. Jen from 'Beauty, Fashion, Life and Love'

"I am a brand new mummy who is obsessed with all things beauty and fashion. You will find a massive range of things on my blog from hair and nail tutorials to my pregnancy journey. My blog is my little creative space to express myself, share my feelings and also let you into my beauty secrets."

"I started my blog almost a year ago but had a big break as didn't think anyone would be interested in what I had to say. I missed blogging as it was such a creative outlet for me I thought what the hell I'm going to start blogging again and do it for me. So 2014 is my new start date :-)"

What Is Your Holy Grail Product: "Mascara was always my must have beauty product but as a new mummy it is definitely now concealer."

Must Have Fashion Item Every Wardrobe Should Have: "Im really into mixing my wardrobe up from jeans to skater skirts and maxi dresses. But I think every girl needs a lbd! You can do so much with a little black dress. Dress them up with big statement jewellery or dress it down with converse and a tie up shirt."
4. Yaz from 'Glitter Mama Wishes'
"Hi everyone, I'm Yaz and write Here I feature mainly beauty reviews but also write lifestyle and parenting posts too. As the blog name suggests I'm mama to my three kids aged 7,2 and 1 month old and love glitter haha!"

"I started my blog in Spetember 2012 as I loved reading other blogs and reviews so  thought I'd add my opinion to the mix :)

I'm also a beauty therapist so since I'm now at home with the kids I missed talking and keeping up to date with the beauty trends. I've found blogging a great way for me to keep in touch with other beauty loving women & mama's and share my opinions, advice & views on all sorts of things ;)"

What Is Your Holy Grail Product: "I think for my holy grail product I'll have to say My Cleanse Off Mitt! As someone who knows the importance of skincare but can also be too tired to cleanse at night, this mitt makes it so much less hassle as all you need is water to take off a full face of makeup. It's simple, reusable and very easy on the pocket at just €3.50 from Cloud 10 Beauty."
5. Laura from 'In The Life Of Laura'
"My name is Laura I am 25 years old from Essex. I currently work as a
Legal Secretary but I also attend college studying Photography."

"I started my blog on the 7 February 2014. I decided to make a blog
because I enjoy reading other blogs and I also love to watch Youtube
videos. I would love to be able to make videos but unfortunately I am
not very confident so I decided to go down the blog writing route. My
blog is mainly a lifestyle blog although I also have fashion and beauty
posts as well."

What Is Your Holy Grail Product: "Soap and Glory's Hand Food, Hand Cream. I take it everywhere!"

Thanks to everyone who RT'ed/contacted me and thanks to these fabulous bloggers for being my March advertisers!
