The Body Shop's Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Hey Everyone,
so summer is here which usually means a lighter base product for a lot of us. Unfortunately I have been put off BB creams since the first few came onto the Irish market a couple of years ago. However this new Tea Tree version from The Body Shop has helped to restore my faith...
It is definitely the formulation of the traditional BB creams I am used to, being light to medium coverage and light weight. It almost has a tinted moisturiser feel about the product with a slightly higher coverage, as you can tell from the photograph above it is not to forgiving to any blemishes however a small about of concealer will do the trick. It smells amazing, whilst the tea tree helps to treat blemished skin. It is available in three shades, I obviously opted for 01 Light and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the colour match. I didn’t notice any oxidation either, so if it did occur it was very slight. The light coverage might not make it popular with everyone but if you are a fan of BB creams and are looking for a light weight base product for the summer I would definitely recommend trying this one out especially as you get 40ml €13.50. The reason I like this one so much compared to others I've tried is that it didn't crumple or flake whether I had any products on underneath it or not. It also didn't sit on-top of the skin like an oily film which was my main bugbear to the old versions, it felt like it was treating my skin and left it feeling smooth and soft.

Have you tried any great summer friendly products recently?

Updates and Thanks

Hey Everyone,
I thought it was about time I did a little update to tell you all the latest news and goss...

Last week were the Company Style Blogger Awards and I was lucky enough to be a finalist. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted and supported me especially to those that left me lovely messages of luck. Unfortunately I didn't win but just being a finalist was such a huge achievement, and there's always next year.
Similarly the Her.ie Aussie Blog Awards were this week, to be in a finalist in the 'Most Aussome Beauty Blog' category along with some of my favourite Irish Bbloggers was such a honour. I knew I had no chance of winning but I was completely shocked to be a finalist and again so grateful for all of your support. Congratulations to Karen and Joanne from Lovely Girlie Bits who completely deserved to win, I have admired their Blog since beginning to Blog myself and I'm delighted for them.
More exciting news, as last week we hit 200,000 views on Love, Life and Makeup. I'm honestly beyond excited about reaching this huge milestone. Thank you so much to everyone that stops by to read what I have to say and leaves love in the comments and on social media, I really do appreciate it and I hope you know that. I hope Love, Life and Makeup continues to grow.
This week I joined a new social media/platform called Lookbook. I'm sure most of you know about it already, I had seen it previously on others Blogs but had never joined it myself. If you are a fashion Blogger or just really into fashion I would definitely recommend checking it out as people post outfits which you can then hype and comment on. Most even list where they got the clothing from.

Last but not least... I was running a Competition over on my Facebook page for the past month and today a winner was picked at random, congratulations to Dawn O'Brien on winning some of the goodies from the #LLAMmeetup. I hope you enjoy them.

Have you had any exciting news recently?

Lusting after Lipsticks

Hey Everyone,
recently there has been a lot of new lip products hit the market much to the rave reviews and hauls of other Bloggers. I have sat back, been very jealous and lusted after their Lipsticks for long enough that I now have a wish-list as long as my arm. This is when the bloggy light bulb went off and I thought why not actually post that wishlist so here it is...

1. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - Pink Pong
These matte lipsticks have been highly raved about by Bloggers everywhere recently, and I have heard nothing but good things. I've had my eye on Pink Pong, a really beautiful bright pink. Although I already have enough pink lipsticks, I thought even if the formula wasn't what I expected at least I know the colour is wearable.

2. Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm - Coquette
I have one of the original Revlon balm sticks and I loved it so their new formula's intrigue me. I thought this pink toned nude was beautiful so it is up there on the top of my list.

3. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte
YSL lipsticks are just the ultimate beauty. Their packaging is beyond stunning which makes it hard not to lust after them. These particular lipstick have been raved about a lot so it's hard to know which colour to go for, or even if the product it's self is worth the money as people do tend to concentrate on the fabulous exterior.

4. L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection PrivĂ©e - Julianne Moore
When I first heard about this line a few months ago I was so delighted. Everyone is on the hunt for that perfect every day nude lipstick and this range seems to provide something for... well everyone. The products are based on the skin-tones of various celebrities, you can try to work out what colour lipstick to choose via matching your tones to the celebrities. I think if I was to pick one up it would be the Julianne Moore lipstick, as she has a similar skin tone to me.

5. Benefit Posiebalm Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm
If you love Benefit's tints you are bound to love their new tinted lip balm range based on those original products. I would probably pick up Posietint due to its subtle pink flush.

6. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm - Unapologetic
Another Balm by Revlon and as I'm always in the market for a new matte product, I'm really interest to see what these are like. I've read numerous reviews and it seems like they have great colour pay off which would have been my worry as they are a balm.

7. Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick - 107
I have this product already in the nude shade however this looks like such a beautiful colour that I am determined to try it and some point.

8. Rimmel - Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick -001
This is a Blogger favourite and to be quite honest I just want to see what all the fuss is about and whether it lives up to all the hype.

9. The Body Shop Colour Crush Shine
I don't think I've ever tried a Body Shop lipstick before but I've recently seen so many Irish Bloggers wearing these and they look beautiful on.

10. MAC Kelly - Yum Yum
Mac's collections are collectors items to a lot of people, so when I saw the new Kelly and Sharon range I had to check it out. The packaging on the Kelly lipsticks are just so cool, replacing the usual matte black with a purple. The colour Yum Yum drew my attention straight away being a bright pink. Unfortunately it is currently sold out everywhere, but I can admire from afar.

I could have gone on forever but I thought ten was probably enough to throw at you for now. If you have tried any of the lipsticks above or even reviewed them please do let me know your thoughts, I always love to hear your opinions!

Emma's Eco-Soy Candles

Hey Everyone,
Bloggers are renowned for being huge candle lovers. With the usual big brand names popping up all over Blogs and Youtube regularly. Well, today I wanted to tell you about an Irish brand 'Emma's Eco-Soy Candles'.

These candles are All Natural, Handmade in Ireland, Fragranced with Only Pure Essential Oils, Clean Burning and Long Lasting. There is also No Artificial Dyes, No Synthetic Fragrances, and No Paraffin or Parabens in any of these products. Emma started to create candles due to not only her craft skills but because she loved them. Emma admits she never really enjoyed the scents available on the market and often found them too strong, giving her headaches. This is when she started using renewable soy and essential oils to create products she loved, before turning it into a business.
Emma creates Boxed Candles that last 50 hours, Tin Candles that last 20 and Wax Tarte Melts for those that love their burners. Emma kindly sent me two Tin Candles in the scents Neroli Fusion and Lemongrass. Both smell incredible and I was surprised just how much fragrance they produced since they were made using essential oils. Needless to say I was impressed from the get go. My favourite fragrance of the two is Neroli Fusion it has a subtle musky smell and it made my living room smell really fresh and homely. It has lasted really well I've burned it two Saturday's in a row from about 5 o'clock in the evening till bed time, it had burned very evenly and is no-where near being finished.
The Lemongrass has a slightly stronger scent but it is a fresh scent perfect (I think) for the bathroom or kitchen due to the citrus kick.
Available Scents:
-Lemongrass
-Lavender
-Orange & Palmarosa
-Citrus Blend
-Harmony Blend
-Neroli Fusion
These Candles are brilliant for anyone worried about any nasties their usual candle of choice may be omitting, especially those with allergies or young children.
You can find more information on Emma's Candles HERE as well as visit her online shop.

Lancome Grandiose Event

 Hey Everyone,
last week I was invited along to the launch of Lancome's brand new innovative mascara 'Grandiose' by the lovely Roisin. The event was held in the beautiful Waterways, Grand Canal. It was such an amazing venue and very appropriate to the new product as you shall see...
What makes Grandiose stand out from other mascaras is the shape of the wand. It is bent like a swans neck. This new shape and 25 degree angle of the bend was designed and perfected by Lancome to prevent the usual problems that occur when trying to apply a mascara. Such as product getting all over your nose, brow bones, and having to swap hands etc.

During the event their was a makeup demonstration from Shehla Sheikh who had just flown into Dublin for the event. She created an amazing eye look with the mascara and other Lancome products. With the new wand and already amazing mascara formula the volume and length of the models lashes were just incredible. This mascara is definitely an exciting new innovation to makeup, and I can envisage a lot of Blogger's raving about this.
This product will be released exclusively in Brown Thomas on 15th July and will be available everywhere else from 30th.

Arrested by Benefit - They're Real Push-Up Liner

Hey Everyone,
Last week I got arrested for the first time and I didn't even care. Mainly because it was by the amazing Benefit team, and I thrown into the most fabulous jail, well what did you expect?
It was fun and the most imaginative event I've ever been too. When we arrived we were apprehended by a rather dashing cop who quickly got us into orange jumpsuits before we were taken for mug shots and put into jail. This jail was a little different though with cupcakes, drinks and of course laughs from the Benefit team and the other #irishbbloggers that were attending.
Once settled in, we were treated to an introduction of the new liner including a look at the new ad:
The is the easiest liner I have ever used, I'm not even over exaggerating I mean it! It is a totally new idea where the liner fluid which is thick and manageable like a gel liner comes through a flexible nib perfectly shaped to help even the most clumsy hands (that would be me!) create the perfect line, and if your feeling adventurous an amazing flick. It is matte and the blackest black, expect a review soon because it deserves so much more than this little rant.
Here's some pic's from the Event:

Thanks so much to all the Benefit team, as usual I had an absolute blast. They really are so lovely and generous and we always have so much fun when with them, especially Sofia and Mark who are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. I highly reccomend checking out the new They're Real Push-Up Liner it is an incredible innovation by Benefit!
